While I’ve been planning weddings for almost 10 years, I just did my first styled shoot this past summer. For those of you who are unfamiliar, a styled shoot is essentially a mock wedding. These shoots give vendor’s the opportunity to showcase their talents and partner up with other vendors who share the same vision. Ely Hemnes from The Unfound Door was amazing enough to invite me to partner with her and her photographers to create something amazing. When we first met to discuss concepts, we came up with the idea of doing some sort of lesbian shoot. With the legalization of marriage for everyone, we knew that this was going to be a very important message for us to promote. Through the evolution of our planning process, we wanted to take the rustic theme that so many couples are using, but give it an extra element of glam. We were also lucky enough to get this shoot featured on Borrowed and Blue in October and again recently on The Colorado Wedding Magazine’s Blog! We’re so excited to finally be able to share all of these photos with the world! These are just a few of my favorite photos from the shoot and the awesome vendors who helped us put this together. The photographs who were able to capture this beautiful afternoon were Kim Mitiska and second shooter Kyla Fear. Over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to share some more photos from the shoot and highlight each of the vendors that made this possible. I’m extremely proud of the shoot and would love to know what you think!
